2 weddings, 3 Babysitters and a Beer

Saturday night was our first night out without the boy and without family as baby sitters. We had 2 weddings to go to. Vince married Sarah, Fred married Ashley (photos to follow). We were able to make it to one of the wedding ceremonies only. Vince's wedding was in a gorgeous Catholic Church in the U district. I really wanted to touch the Holy Water to see if it would burn (you know, 'cause I'm mostly Jewish) but I didn't want to offend. Isaac's first venture into church was a success. The wedding was lovely but long, and Ike was very well behaved. He only fussed a tiny bit and didn't even make his funny, gurgley noises. Most likely he will not be in church again for many years to come. Unless someone else gets married in one and allows small, red headed babies into the mix. Maybe by then he'll have a real tux to wear rather then the tux onesie.
We brought Isaac to the ceremony but got some friends to babysit for the evening portion of the events so we could go out and stay out. Our friends Amy, Michael and Laura (east) came from NYC, and Karl and Laura (west) came from Portland, and we all spent the evening celebrating, eating, drinking and being rather loud and obnoxious. While we were enjoying ourselves Isaac was also enjoying himself. As you can see, maybe a little too much. It turns out that Goretti and Kate got Isaac crazy drunk while Morgan sat back and made them dinner. It was a disaster. He was so hung over the next morning he couldn't even speak without slurring his words. Sad. Luckily we got home in time to intervene. He'll be starting AA tomorrow.

.Goretti the "pusher-man".

Kate being suggestive rather then "peer pressuring" him into it. She's more subtle then G.

All kidding aside, we are SO thankful to Morgan, Kate, and Goretti for taking care of Isaac for so many hours Saturday night. Isaac loves you all and so do we! Next time we won't be out so late.

And in case you were wondering, Kate is the fabulous artist who made the super fun silhouettes of Isaac and Lucy that live above the rocking chair in his room (See above). She takes commissions!
