Some choice moments

Here are some select photos from Isaac’s first few weeks as a 1-year old. Enjoy!

One of Isaac’s favorite things to do now that he can crawl is to crawl all over. One trick that we’ve picked up that can help keep him in the living room a little bit longer is to play hide and seek with him. As he (quickly) moves out of the room and starts heading down the hall, all we have to do is say loudly, “Where did Isaac go? Where did Isaac go?” and you’ll hear his crawling stop, he’ll turn around, and then slowly peek around the corner back at you. Then we say, “Oh, there he is!” and he smiles real big and then hides again and we repeat the process. It never fails to bring big smiles.

As an early father’s day present, we bought a hiking backpack for me and Isaac. We haven’t actually gone hiking with it yet, but we have walked miles and miles from here to the park, here to Ballard, here to friends’ houses, etc. He loves it, and so do I!

The obligatory messy-face photo.

Put the kid in the laundry basket, give him a napkin to share, and he’s surprisingly content. Don’t worry, we haven’t start using the laundry basket as a play pen full time.

At Danielle’s Moms Group (a group of women and children who all had children within a month or two of Isaac and all live within a few miles of each other), they decided to throw a joint 1-year birthday party for all the babies at once at a local baby/toddler learning center called Gymboree. Maybe they have one in your town, I think they're national. Isaac, and all the babies, had a great time, as you can see:

He really got tuckered out towards the end of the day, hence the somewhat melancholy looks from him. He just didn’t want to stop!
