Went to the doctor yesterday because Ike was showing signs of something mild but troubling — a little more "urp"-iness as he’s eating than we thought was ok, mixed with some unhappy grunting. Turns out he most likely has indigestion. Since he can’t quite tell us what is wrong, there’s not much we can do. It looks like the best medicine is to try and distract him from the apparent pain he’s feeling as much as possible. Luckily it’s few and far between, and he’s continuing to be his happy-go-lucky self 95% of the time.
The good news is that Ike is now up over 6 pounds. 6lbs, 3.5oz. So now he can use all the various items we’ve received that say “not for babies under 6 pounds”. Stupid weight-ist equipment.
Since all babies are told to sleep on their backs instead of their bellies nowadays, they spend a lot more time on their backs than their bellies. So we’ve started giving Ike some tummy-time to help strengthen up his neck muscles so he’ll eventually be able to keep his head from rolling around on his shoulders like a top. Here’s a couple pics of him being the cutest thing ever while trying hard to keep his composure:

And here’s a pic of Ike in his super-fun “Mysterio” shirt that Julie and Leo got him:
To those of you out there looking for pictures of Ike in the clothes that you bought him, well, hang tight — Ike’s working really hard to grow into those as quickly as possible.
He tries so hard
